Monster Phonics eBooks

What are Monster Phonics eBooks?

Monster phonics eBooks use a multisensory system to help children remember the sound of more complex spellings that can be confusing. This helps children to read confidently and fluently. These books are directly linked to your child's phonics learning and will be a valuable addition to their reading.

The library of engaging decodable stories use the unique colour-coded system to improve accessibility and accelerate learning to read.  Stages 1 to 10 take children on a journey from beginner reader to fluency. The first 5 stages from Stage 1 to Stage 3.2 include optional text for an adult read to add further context and engagement to the earliest decodable books.

Using the Monster Phonics eBooks

Monster Phonics e-books is a reading scheme that your child will use for independent reading at home throughout the week. Each child has a unique homepage and can log into it by following these steps:

  1.     Go to https://ebooks.monsterphonics.com/
  2.     Enter your child’s login details (provided by the class teacher)
  3.     Your child’s homepage will appear.

We allocate books to your child according to their reading levels and their phonics stage. These books will appear in drop down tabs at the side of the screen under ‘Stages’. Click on the latest book to read with your child. See our Parent guide for further help.
A colourful dot on the back cover of each book indicates the Book Band reading level.

Getting involved as a parent

  • Look at the book cover and talk about it. Is the book likely to be fiction or non-fiction? Have you read other books together about these characters or by this author? What does your child think the book is going to be about?
  • Read the focus words inside the front cover together.
  • Support your child when unknown words need tackling using their phonics knowledge. Remind your child to listen to the words while reading them, to make sure that they make sense. Have a ‘meaning check’ every now and again to ensure that your child understands the text.
  • Talk about the book. What was it about? Ask questions beginning with the words how and why to check that understanding.

We hope your child enjoys reading on Monster Phonics eBooks.

If you have any queries, please speak with your child’s teacher.
